Did you know that there are almost 60 members of the Cornish community doing the famine this year? (A number of whom also participated in last night's Cornish Sleepout)
From Ms Millar and the Grade One's: "Our class raised a total (with my family) of $334 by giving up technology. The children who participated were Marshall, Adam, Isabella, Helena (Ella absent. We had a great maths lesson sorting the money, counting it and then working out how many months we could sponsor a family for - it worked out to be 8 months. We were all pretty impressed with ourselves!"
What a great response! Over 30 people signed up to do the famine in less than a week...including several teachers!
ReplyDeleteTerrific to see Adam from Grade 1 inspiring his classmates to raise money for the 40 hour famine this morning.
